Reporting to the Mobile Pantry Manager, the Neighbor Service Associate is responsible for supporting and implementing CFBNJ's direct service programs in southern New Jersey, to include CFBNJ's mobile food pantry program in Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May Counties, and its Community Assistance Pantry in Egg Harbor Township.
Support of these programs will include on-site as well as administrative assistance with record-keeping, reporting, and planning.
This role also will assist with customer service to CFBNJ's network partners, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes, after-school programs, and more, through assisting with manual food orders, scheduling appointments, and maintaining agency records and files.
Hours:
M-F, small number of evenings or weekend days may be required for pantry coverage or community or partner events or meetings, 40 hours / week.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Implement and assist with development of mobile food distribution activities in Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May Counties.
This includes food ordering and assessment of community-specific food needs and preferences Create a culture of first-class customer experience for the neighbors and partners we serve.
Model the treatment of our neighbors as though they are valued, paying customers, and ensure we are listening to and learning from them at our distributions.
Welcome, train, and manage mobile pantry and Community Assistance Pantry volunteers.
Address neighbor and volunteer concerns related to distributions.
Represent CFBNJ at occasional external meetings and events.
Maintain knowledge and consistently model the policies and procedures of Feeding America's national office; US & NJ Departments of Agriculture; and state and local government regulations pertaining to food handling, distribution, storage, sanitation, and disposal.
Assist with Direct Service team's transitions from paper-focused to digital-focused client intake and reporting systems.
Assist mobile pantry manager with development of strategies to fill gaps and improve network partner coverage in underserved areas.
Troubleshoot daily agency order issues.
Provide occasional management coverage of Community Assistance Pantry.
Position
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred; some college coursework required Must have a personal vehicle and valid US driver's license Technical aptitude (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) is essential for success, along with a positive and creative solutions-based attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience working in community outreach or customer service Experienced or comfortable working in underserved communities and with people from a variety of backgrounds:
diverse client populations, community organizations, government officials, vendors, and staff at all levels Empathy toward target population of direct-service clients; lived experience with issues facing our neighbors in need is a plus Strong ability to meet deadlines and provide accurate reporting of findings Bilingual or multilingual skills (English plus Spanish, Creole, Bengali, or other) are a plus Ability to work a varied schedule as described above, and to work in person at mobile distribution event schedule (generally starting early in morning) Passion to serve vulnerable families and communities, and a growth mindset Event management experience is a plus but not required.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
