Summary:
Terminal Second level Engineering (TSLE) System Engineering, Integration & Field Support Team is looking for a Technical Specialist to serve as a member of the team that is deeply involved in the full System Test and Integration life cycle of multiple projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Works independently under general guidelines and objectives.
Monitors NAS system, software and FAA procedural requirements when providing STARS System Integration and Field support, testing and interface of software and computer system.
Ascertains STARS/TAMR and Elite system being upgrade are supportable, maintainable and certifiable.
Gather Data for (FRD) Facility Reference Data.
Load software, firmware, adaptation and configuration.
Ascertains user requirements, performs system-wide analysis and functional allocations, exhibits an understanding of the requirements, the responsive approach to the customer, and satisfies the customer requirements.
Will learn NAS system software, in FAA procedural requirements, and in satisfying the requirements in the areas of STARS/TAMR and Hardware Integration, standardization and other engineering considerations regarding FAA missions and National Airspace System (NAS) systems.
Will gain knowledgeable of both state-of-the-art and aging technologies that comprise the FAA's NAS and the products from emerging NAS modernization program.
Interfaces with specialists from OSF, SOS, TSLE DESIRED KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience in a variety of Computer Skills and the ability to learn tasks related FAA Tech Ops/ATC functions; Networking skills (how routers/switches/hubs work together); Ability to understand the high level architecture of STARS (Standard Terminal Automation Replacement Systems) and CARTS (Common Automated Radar Terminal Systems); Basic understanding of electronic component installation and wiring.
Good communication skills.
Scheduling/organizational skills.
Help generate trip reports from deployment leads Collect data from the Field sites Ability to learn complex software systems, mainframe and microcomputer programming including a variety of application and operating system software packages.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS Experience STARS supporting STARS data reduction and analysis and be able to respond to STARS field support calls (Hardware and Software) Terminal lab/test bed configuration.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Years of experience High School Diploma or GED required and ten (10) years of related experience including at least five (5) years of NAS experience.
Demonstrated expertise at Technical Specialist 4 level.
An Associate?s Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of two (2) years of experience.
A Bachelor?s Degree in a related field will be accepted in lieu of four (4) years of experience.
Security US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Located at the WJHTC, Atlantic City NJ.
Ability to travel 50% of the time and lift 50 to 75 pounds for removal and disposition of old equipment and installation of new equipment.
