SELECTING OFFICIAL: Col Kerry M. Gentry, 177th Fighter Wing Commander
Must be willing to become a member of the New Jersey Air National Guard.
The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of the duties that may be required for this position: A copy of the complete position description is available in the Human Resource Office.
DUTIES: Administers combat flight training to military air crews. Assess flight instructors, pilots and other air crew members assigned, attached or newly acquired to the unit to determine flying background and proficiency in the Unit Equipped (UE) airplane. Maintains a thorough knowledge of airplane systems and procedures under normal, instrument, and emergency conditions to give timely and accurate instruction to air crews in the air or on the ground. Briefs and instructs preflight preparations including intelligence briefings, mission planning, weather factors, mission objectives, and other agency coordination to ensure safe flight procedures and effective mission accomplishment. Serves as the Air Commander's representative when performing duties Operations Supervisor (SUP), Supervisor of Flying (SOF), or Stand-by-Duty Officer (SDO), and is responsible for the safe and efficient mission accomplishment of the unit through the use of an Operational Risk management (ORM) program.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: MUST BE CURRENTLY QUALIFIED AS AN F-16 AIRPLANE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR.

GENERAL
Experience: Applicant must possess the flying time, certificates, and ratings as required below. Except to the extent defined below the applicant does not require a special number of years of experience.
Applicants must have the following:
500 hours in the F-16 or
400 hours in the F-16 with 1000 Instructor Pilot/First Pilot hours or
200 hours in the F-16 with 750 IP/MP/FP in an 11FXX AFSC

Experience:
ABILITY to fly aircraft during day and night, over all kinds to terrain and in any weather.
ABILITY to serve as pilot or co-pilot on various missions involving training, operational and/or administrative flights.
ABILITY to participate in tactical flights and weaponry exercises.
ABILITY to design routes and procedures for training exercises.
ABILITY to plan exercises or mission operations
