As an Attorney-Adviser (General), GS-12, you will:
Participate in pre-hearing conferences, examines and cross-examines witnesses, argues motions, prepares and presents opening statements and closing arguments. Evaluate adverse decisions for possibility of appeal in coordination with the state JFHQ/JAG and NGB/JA/LIT. Establish case strategy and tactics in coordination with the state JFHQ/JAG and NGB/JA/LIT. Provide legal assistance on a non-interference basis to members of the ANG, spouses of members, and family members as authorized by ANGI 51-504, AFI 51-504 (when applicable), CNGBI, NGR, and other AF/JA guidance and, as resources and expertise permit, legal assistance may also be provided to Active Component members, other Reserve Component members, and retirees of any military service. Counsel clients in person on the recommended legal course of action. Provide deployment legal assistance to ensure the personal legal readiness of military members; participates in deployment readiness exercises and mobility lines Formulate Wing legal policy and its execution; legal representation; legal initiatives; constitutional, civil, criminal, labor law; a full spectrum of expert legal advice to Wing leaders. Prepare, research, and issue oral and written legal opinions and legal advice with regard to a wide variety of laws, regulations, instructions, directives and policies in the area of Administrative Law. Experience:
Do you have the following General educational requirements for this position? Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree in law issued by an ABA-accredited law school. Must be admitted to practice law in the highest court of any U.S. state, commonwealth, territory or the District of Columbia Specialized
Experience:
Do you have at least 12 months of Specialized education, experience or training in the following?:
Working as a professional Attorney Advisor. Specified experiences that prepared the applicant to successfully perform the Judge Advocate duties and responsibilities, with the required competency level, as defined by the applicable position description. The basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for dual status technician appointment to the GS-0905 Attorney-Adviser program positions. The Air National Guard programs and organizational mission requirements. Providing legal interpretation and guidance to ANG managers and senior leaders on United States Code Title 32 709, National Guard Program. The ability to recognize and identify complex constitutional, state-federal, and military-civilian jurisidictional issues frequently associated with the organization and administration of the Title 32 National Guard, and articulate them in the appropriate forum or context. Providing legal interpretation and guidance to managers and senior leaders on 10 United States Code, and the state equivalent to the federal Uniform Code of Military Justice. Conducting legal research in connection with cases pending administrative hearings, trials before courts of original jurisdiction, or arguments in appellate courts. Addressing legal questions referred by administrative officials of the employing agency, such as questions concerning the interpretation and application of statutes, rules, and regulations as they pertain to contracts, claims, or other legal instruments involving private business, state, local, national, or foreign governments. Researching, cross-checking information, and interpreting data to obtain accurate and relevant information. Negotiating with those who resist responding or cooperating, due to such issues as organizational conflict, competing objectives, or limited resources.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
